Winter Bird Count for Kids-
John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge
in Tinicum, PA on Saturday, Jan. 8
8:30am - 1pm
Cusano Environmental Education Center (CEEC)
appropriate for children ages 8 - 16

Inspired by a century-old tradition, experienced
birders will lead groups of children around
Heinz NWR and other local spots to discover the
various bird species that spend winter in our area.
Possible sightings include a nice variety of hawks,
waterfowl, sparrows, finches, and Bald Eagles.

The program will start with a brief welcome and
orientation. After the bird excursions, groups will
return to CEEC to enjoy a lunch and share their
groups' sightings with their new birding friends.
The program will conclude with some special guests!

Remember to dress for the cold weather!

This is a cooperative effort with Friends of Heinz NWR
and the Pennsylvania Young Birders Club.
Space is limited.

Upcoming Events
While we conduct various trips for birders of all levels, the Fledging Birders Institute also
provides unique, multifaceted field experiences for beginning birders. These novel
outings will foster an appreciation of bird diversity and promote an understanding of
conservation concerns related to birds and their habitats.
